Saint-Guilhem-Le-Désert

Saint Guilhem Le Désert - Gorges de L'Hérault is a site managed sensitively, being both welcoming for its visitors and protective of its heritage.

St Guilhem has all the charm and character you would expect from a beautiful medieval village: alleyways, buildings and the famous Gellone abbey, reminiscent of the first Southern Romanesque art registrered as a Unesco World Heritage Site. This site is at the entrance to the Hérault gorges, and is one of the stages on the way to St James of Compostella in Spain. Located 45 kms west of Montpellier.
