Cascade du Nideck

Located to the south of the castle ruins at 534 m in altitude, the waterfall spills down from the top of a wall of volcanic rock. Nideck waterfall has a drop of 25 m and blends into a perfectly preserved natural site. It offers pleasant walks and rambles in the summer when the cool greenness is highly appreciated. The legend of the giants of Nideck Castle gives the site a special atmosphere in its wild, forest surroundings. The summit of the mountain offers an exceptional view over Bruche Valley. The site is easy to access with open pathways. In the summer the waterfall is sometimes reduced to a trickle of water, however this does not detract in any way from the overall charm and attraction of this romantic site.
