La Communauté de Commune du Pays de Mauriac offers three different tours on the former Miecaze to Bort les Orgues railway track. An outstanding rail heritage on the old line known as “les Auvergnats de Paris” , which is over 100 year old !

Departure from Drugeac (12 km South of Mauriac) : 7 km round trip to Cascade de Salins (waterfall), 3 tunnels (one is 500 m long), 3 viaducts . Allow about 2hrs. Departure from Mauriac : 21 km round trail weaning its way along the plateau, and down the Auze river valley to eventually reach Cascade de Salins. Allow about 3hr30. Subject to availability : a 14 km round trip from Mauriac to Cascade de Salins . Allow 2hr30

Velorail is as comfortable as riding a bike, with adjustable seats and independent chain transmission systems. It can carry up to 5 people, including disabled passengers. Young children are welcome too, and special seats are available on request. Make sure to take with you a drink, a sun hat, and appropriate footwear. Various departure times throughout the day. Please book ahead and report no less than 30 mns before departure time.
